DEVELOPMENT OF BETHANY PROJECTS


1. Initial Bethany Manor - Opened 1986
This 70-unit rental housing project was developed using a CMHC subsidized mortgage. A waiting list began to develop immediately upon completion. In addition to subsidized rental suites, this building includes a kitchen, dining room and several lounges and meeting rooms.

2. Bethany Manor Life Lease Expansion - Opened 1989
The expansion included 56 life lease units and an additional 21 subsidized rental units. Along with the living units, an assembly room, additional lounges and amenity spaces were created including “coffee row” to provide gathering and recreational areas for the residents. 24 indoor parking stalls were built.

3. Bethany Court Life Lease Units - Opened 1995
A total of 18 Townhouse units were constructed to the East of Bethany Manor as additional life lease units. These townhouses added to the land base of the complex and provided another form of housing enabling more people to become involved in the life of the Bethany complex.

4. Bethany Villa - Opened 1996
In response to an ever-increasing number of residents and community members requiring additional assistance and security, sixteen supported living units were added to the complex. This expansion also included renovations to expand and improve the kitchen and dining room and other resident amenities.

5. Bethany Tower- Opened 2000
56 life lease units (eight stories) were added in response to continuing demand for accommodation within the complex. Amenities included a guest suite and a 30-stall indoor parkade, with funds set aside to build a fellowship center.

6. Bethany Fellowship Centre – Opened 2001
This multi-purpose room seats approximately 250 people and is used for worship, entertainment, banquets, parties, exercise and a host of other activities.

7. Bethany Place – Opened 2008
In response to continuing demand, an additional 56 one-bedroom units were added (46 are life lease units, 10 are rentals). Residents may live independently or receive assistance. Amenities include a large dining/activity room, fireplace lounge, hobby rooms and a medical clinic.
